Warm Greeting from Shaws Wood. I trust you have had a happy and blessed Easter Season.
The first quarter of 2015 is now completed and we come to God to give thanks for guiding us through this difficult period. I am pleased to share that the CQC our national regulators re visited Shaws Wood in December 2014 and have now awarded a ‘Good’ rating for the Home.
I wanted to express my gratitude to all those who have continued to pray and helped over the past nine months. It’s great to see how we have enhanced the Home but with no detriment to our core values.
The refurbishment has now been completed with the upgrading of the Hairdressing Salon, a new look Activities Lounge and the addition of three more lovely Residents Rooms.
By all accounts the garden, which was created last autumn and the themed walls throughout the Home have really been well received by both Residents and family members alike.
We have hired a new Registered Manager, Kirsty, will be starting to work in the Home on the 7th April, she will report directly to Anita, the Head of Operations and Strategic Development. Please pray that this addition to the Management Team will transition smoothly and that Kirsty will gel quickly and well with the team from day one. The role of Registered Manager is a very large responsibility so please pray for Kirsty as she learns how Shaws Wood operates.
On Thursday the 9th of April our Pastoral Care Co-ordinator, Sue we will be running a spirituality workshop which will be aimed to help the staff as they look to engage with our Resident’s spiritual needs. Please pray that this training will be well received and that the Lord will bless Sue as she prepares for running the evenings training.
